Squaring the circle of recreational use vs damage to the environment and frustrations of landowners is not the role for Friends of Crummock. Many locals are drawn to the area for its wild beauty and understand why visitors want to share that pleasure though the aftermath can be unpleasant!

Warm weather and summer holidays brings pressure on our recreational areas and nowhere is put under more pressure than our lovely lakes.
Wild camping whether under canvas or in the back of van can be magical for the campers but leave a trail of waste (wrappers, bbq’s and human).
