Hilary launches Petition to stop UU bullying
STOP PRESS - Petition hits 5000 signatures
Thousands of Crummock Friends are signing a petition to stop United Utilities draining Crummock water.
Local wild swimmer Hilary Iozzi was so incensed by the proposals she launched the petition highlighting how ill thought out the scheme was. Hilary, a retired teacher, has lived in the area for over 20 years and can regularly be seen cycling to the boat house to enjoy a swim in the lake. She explained: “Its my physical therapy, winter or summer. We HAVE to stop these big Corporates trampling over us.”
Even though Hilary is just 5ft tall, no one is able to trample over her. Her petition is spreading far and wide and catching the eye of social media influencers in the valley.
While a petition signature is no substitute for a formal letter of objection, Friends of Crummock have been in touch with LDNP Planning Officer Phil Nichols and will be presenting it to the park authorities prior to the application being reviewed by their development committee on July 2nd.
